This publication showcases the most recent body of work by the Berlin-based artist Marina Zumi, created in 2022.
This new concept sets a breaking point, where the artist abandone the ‘heavy dark backgrounds’ and replaces them with an amorous color wave, depicting personal experiences and embracing ‘beloved acidic feelings’, as a complice winkle in between.
Her productions pass from the classical canvas preparation with rabbit glue and eternals acrylic hands, to the use of spray paint to create her painterly. mesmerising gradients and translucence; to the hand embroidery finishing of each artwork, where lines connect dots and shape the contour of her creations, sparkling here and there shiny varnish details to be seen playing with the light of the atmosphere.
This analog textile – post vapor wave artworks, are the result of the merge from almost 20 years of self taught career in. between neo-muralism, art productions and light immersive installations, where ‘connection’ and ‘light study’ been the invisible threds that connect her art expression.
